I have been checking the boards recently and noticed, and i'm sure others have as well, that there have been quite a lot of new members being added on an almost daily basis. Yet, the majority of them seem to be uninterested in posting on the site.

In order to solve the problem, I am suggesting that a board might be added that is specifically designed for new members to introduce themselves and talk with other users about the site and what you can do (sort of like the "welcome newbies board" on the gamespot forum).

I know that the Universal Lounge board was already made for a similar purpose, but I think that it is too vague for new users to feel like they can actually post an intro. topic there, seeing as how the board is for general user/community use.

Any comments?

I have sort of said something about the subject in another thread. I think that they should either post or not bother signing up to be a member. I realize that this may sound reather harsh, but that's how I see it. They are just taking up space here.

Yeah, as of now I don"t really have a system that automatically deletes old members that don"t post.

we have plenty of new members, it is just that they don't post, that is why i thought that an intro. board, or at least a stickied intro. thread might encourage them

It doesn't matter that the site is growing if the new members don't post. Why should they even join the forum if they're not even going to participate. It's just pointless.
